Operating Instructions

How to Use

  1. Remove the protective cap.
  2. Switch the tester on using the ON/OFF button.
  3. Calibrate the tester before first use and then every 4 weeks.
  4. To measure the pH value, immerse the sensor tip in the water and gently stir the tester.
  5. Keep the sensor submerged until the reading on the display becomes stable.
  6. After measurement, place the protective cap back onto the moist sensor. The sensor must not be allowed to dry out.
  7. Switch the tester off after use.

Calibration

  1. Turn the pH tester on.
  2. Immerse the sensor tip into the supplied calibration solution.
  3. Press and hold the CAL button for 5 seconds.
  4. When the display shows 7.0, the tester is successfully calibrated.
  5. If the display does not immediately show 7.0, repeat the calibration using the same calibration solution.
  6. Recalibrate the pH tester every 4 weeks.

Maintenance & Storage

  • If the tester has not been used for a long period and the sensor has been exposed to air, the readings may become slow or unstable.
  • In this case, leave the sensor immersed in clean water for several hours before use.
  • Important: The sensor is fragile and should always be handled with care.
  • Always keep the sensor moist by replacing the protective cap immediately after use.

Low Battery

If the display becomes faint or no longer shows a clear reading, replace the batteries.

  • Battery type: 2 × 1.5 V LR44 button cells
  • Ensure the batteries are installed with the correct polarity.

Important Notes

  • The calibration solution is for one-time use only.
  • In its sealed package, the solution has a pH value of 7.0.
  • Once opened, it absorbs carbon dioxide from the air, which gradually changes its pH value.
  • After calibration, you can measure the pH of your cold tap water and use this value as a reference for future checks.
  • If the reading of your tap water changes noticeably, recalibration may be required.
  • By keeping the sensor moist and storing it with the protective cap in place, recalibration is typically only necessary every 2–3 months.

Battery Installation

Insert 2 × LR44 (1.5 V) button cell batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+ / −).
